Good morning, I have taken it under advisement that one good way to increase traffic to a website is to make it into a blog. I would like to be able to make daily posting a more deliberate action in my life so here I am. I might as well share what it feels like to get your webcomic done. It’s hard. Week after week I have the intention of making my comics and I get into the studio and work on something and that’s good. It just seems that whatever I work on is without consequence or a shot in the dark. I have been trying to post on Instagram and Tumblr and Twitter in hopes that like going to a comic convention and having my portfolio reviewed — I would fulfill my dream of meeting the right person and landing the right job and finding my way into the comic community. It would seem that in today’s day and age you are your comic community and your comic community is the amount of time you devote to finding an audience. If nothing else, starting the blog is going to give me a sense of routine and I find that highly encouraging given the fact that as an artist and human being I typically put doing what I want to do last. No more. You and me blog- let’s see how hard it is to check in and get work done. For updates I have a script on Lightning Duck #4 and have to have a final edit completed before I start. On the web comic front- you can expect a new Medievals by the end of the day today. Have a great day, thank you for reading this and know that your dreams can come true because you can choose to put your dream into action, and then you can sculpt and edit and sculpt and edit and one day you will have a new dream built of all your old ones.
Hey all faithful Better Comix readers. I’m on a hardline to bring some substance and awesomeness to this page in the coming year. The Medievals: Prelude is going to continue and get heavy and crazy and weird. That’s a promise! Thanks for looking at my work – feel free to send me the hates and the loves because I’m open to the editing. I’m an artist and I don’t get to eat so please send me the critique to munch on. Again. Check hear and at lightningduck.com for biweekly webcomix. Lightning duck will be getting new comics in the coming year starting with Lightning Duck #4. It takes me a while to write these but my aim is to have issues 5 and 6 also out this year. Now if I could only afford some nice conventions to meet all you fine people! Check out my Instagram and Tumblr to see how my week’s turned out and follow us on Facebook.
I’m proud to finally be able to offer Lightning Duck # 3. It’s been a while but Better Comix is back and publishing it’s only print comic at this time. Please email me for a copy! Online store will be coming soon!
Not because of the mud or the increasing desire to go out and do something with my day. Not to be cold looking for the first flowers or realize how much the winter has left a bunch of stuff to clean. Not because of taxes and the unrelenting need to stick to a budget. No I hate the spring because for the past 4 years I’ve developed some sort of allergy hell that apparently doesn’t have much to do with pollen but just the arrival of seasons. Fall is also bad. I do hope to get more posts of The Medievals out more regularly. So far it’s been tough to get them done monthly. I’m also still continuing Lightning Duck which has become a multiple year thing. There is no learning tool like a horribly unrealized self-imposed deadline so please accept the apology that a hughman being is full of faults and he is trying to work on them. Also I’m trying to warm up my digital talents by participating in Daily Spitpaint workgroup on FB. You can see my attempts at my tumblr: http://hughmanbeing.tumblr.com/
